Pancratium and California Pepper Tree

A watercolor painting of a pancratium and a California Pepper Tree. The written notation by the pancratium indicates that the plant was found by the Ocklawaha River and the Spring Lake and that it was picked in February 1873. A description of the plant is on page 513 of Asa Gray's Manual of Botany. The written notation by the California Pepper Tree indicates that it was painted on January 9, 1894 and was sent by Mrs D. Greenough from Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
